Pietro, Manuela and Alfredo, three different personalities. Three lives on the road, with help from Autonomy.

Alfredo Di Cosmo is a sales manager and racing champion. Travelling is his job and cars are his hobby. Even in his dreams.

Pietro Mazzei teaches tennis to the disabled. An outdoor job that has changed his outlook on life. And mobility.

Manuela Migliaccio is an undergraduate student in Veterinary Medicine. She dreams of a life between laboratory and clinic. Without neglecting the desire to travel.

Fiat’s program tailored to individuals with motor or sensory impairment

The Autonomy Program provides a range of services to enhance quality of life for the disabled. Since it was set up in 1995, the Program has had one single goal: to enable mobility with the highest level of comfort and safety. Autonomy offers financial incentives to supplement tax benefits, such as reduced sales tax, tax deductibility of the purchase price, and exemption from vehicle road and registration taxes (except for individuals with sensory impairment). Participants in the Autonomy Program have access to qualified personnel who guide them through the complex bureaucratic procedure for obtaining a special driver’s license, as well as providing technical and legal advice. In addition to a two-year warranty on their vehicle, customers of the Autonomy Program are also covered by a roadside assistance service for the first 4 years of ownership. Support from the Program doesn’t stop there, however. Autonomy also offers mobility center users the free use of a vehicle to take their driver’s test.

Offering a wide range of advantages, including financial incentives and technical, tax and legal advice

The Autonomy Program also caters to the desire of disabled people to be active and participate in sports

Helping people with motor problems be active and fully experience the outdoors once again is also a key part of the Autonomy Program’s activities. This has been made possible through various partnerships and agreements with private companies, sports associations and individual athletes. One of these initiatives is FreeWhite, a non-profit association based in Sestriere (Piedmont, Italy) that conducts summer and winter camps where participants can engage in a variety of sports, ranging from swimming to skiing. Then there is FISIP, the Italian Federation of Winter Paralympic Sports, which organizes downhill skiing, cross-country skiing and snowboarding events at competitive level. Fiat’s support for sport does not end there, however. Fiat sponsors three great champions: the Paralympic athletes Roberto La Barbera and Francesca Porcellato and driver Alfredo Di Cosmo, who are also spokespersons for the Autonomy Program.
